Real Magic Wands-How to Do It Yourself
Shopping for kids’ real magic wands could be a big task for parents. To save time and money, try to make your own realistic-looking wands so you and your kids can also spend time together. There are lots of wands available in the market but there’s still nothing like having a parent-child bonding time that can develop your child’s skills and improve your relationship.
Making real magic wands is very easy. All you need is the right procedure and the proper materials so you can start creating them. You can purchase some materials from a local craft store near your place or you can also buy a few from the department store. You can also look for some materials located inside and outside your home!
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make a magic wand:
1. Prepare all materials needed for the project. Make sure you have these all beside you before you start building the wand:
· 14 inch thick twig or longer
· sharp-edged knife or cutter
· scissors
· sandpaper
· brown varnish or brown non-toxic paint
2. Get the twig and cut small sprigs with a pair of scissors. Smoothen the surface through shredding the rough areas of the twig using the knife or cutter. This will give the wand a shape and a smooth surface so you can hold it easily. If you prefer to create a handle at the base of the wand, carve out the bottom part so it turns into a handle for easier grip.
3. Refine the wand’s edges with a sandpaper for a smoother finish. You can also skip this step if you’re looking for a wand that can be used by adults but if the wand’s exclusively for your kid, smoothen the wand so it’s safer to use.
4. Paint the wand with brown paint. Then, apply varnish for a shiny effect. You can also skip the brown paint if you want a more natural look. Now, you have a real magic wand!
